Attend a debate in Parliament

Why watch on C-SPAN in the middle of the night when you can see the real thing, live and in person? To witness a British parliamentary debate in all its bombastic, sarcastic glory, all you have to do is show up and join the queue outside Westminster Palace. It may take an hour or two to get in, and on some days — particularly when controversial legislation is up for discussion — there may not be any space, but most of the time it's quite easy to get in.

It is generally considered bad form to join the debate from the observation gallery.

Getting there

Parliament House is right at Westminster station.
