Moonlight walk along the Singapore River

Once a steamy cesspool, the Singapore River was cleaned up a few decades ago and is now one of Asia's most beautiful urban waterways. Starting at the Fullerton Hotel downtown, and winding west into the interior, the river is lined with historic buildings, restaurants, vibrant nightlife areas, and pleasant parks.

There are pedestrian paths on both banks, and pedestrian bridges every few hundred meters should you want to cross. It's a nice walk any time of day, but particularly enjoyable in the evening when the weather is a bit cooler and the lights of the city reflect on the water.

Getting there

To start the walk at the beginning, ride to Raffles Place station and head two blocks north from the exit. Clarke Quay station is also very near to the river.
