The Stravinsky Fountain

It's hard to describe the Stravinsky Fountain exactly. A crazed hodgepodge of wild, brightly-colored, erratically moving mechanical beasts in a shallow pool of water between a centuries-old church and the brazen Pompidou Centre, the fountain is not the sort of thing you expect to find in Paris. But once you do, it's hard not to walk around and around it, suspiciously eyeing the strange characters doing their strange things in the water.

In the summertime, children jump in and splash around, and buskers entertain passersby. There are also a few cafes facing the fountain, so it's a nice pitstop any time of year.
